👉 Our marmot herbal ointments now have a new design. 👈
New design - same quality
Since 1992 we have been producing our marmot herbal ointments according to a tried and tested recipe. We stick to it. The composition of pure marmot oil, chamois fat, olive oil, deer fat and powerful herbs has a beneficial effect on your muscles, back, neck and joints.
We do not want to change what has proven itself for over 30 years.
THE MURMELI HERBAL OINTMENT REMAINS UNCHANGED DESPITE THE NEW DESIGN.

What remains?
Red and Blue
You can still recognize your marmot herbal ointment by its color. The red lid for the warming one and the blue lid for the cooling one remain unchanged.
The recipe, the quality, our values, our heart and soul and our passion also remain unchanged.

Why a new design
“Never change something that is going well.”
We have heard this often. We have changed our design at least four times in the last 30 years.
Why do we do it anyway?
We believe that change is necessary. We know of very few products that have looked the same for decades and still work or even exist today. Time moves on and customers change too.
Clearer
The new design is clearer and easier to perceive.
More readable
The writing is easier to read. It is no longer curved, but straight. This makes it easier for older people.
The purpose is immediately apparent
The application of the ointments is better and can be recognized at first glance. For example, the warming ointment says "Warms back, muscles and joints" in straight letters and is immediately recognizable.
No more negative writing
Negative text (white on a black background) is much more difficult to read, especially for older people or people with visual impairments.
Matches the rest of the range
Our range has grown in recent years. The Murmeli herbal ointment has been joined by natural cosmetics for the care of hands, feet and lips. We have even created a deodorant cream. We have chosen a uniform design for these new products. The Murmeli herbal ointments no longer fit into the overall picture.
Why only now?
The marmot herbal ointments are our oldest and best-selling natural product.
Actually, these would have been the first to be changed in terms of design. Everything else was supposed to follow. But Corona put a stop to that. Shortly before the outbreak, the lockdowns, and the travel restrictions, we stocked up on ointment jars particularly well. After that, unfortunately, we didn't need as many ointments as planned. Disposing of these jars was out of the question for us, so all we could do was wait until the stock was used up.
The transition
There will be «intermediate designs»
We don't throw away any of our old cans. That's out of the question for us.
We have four types of jars for our marmot herbal ointment. Warming and cooling, 50ml and 100ml. Of course, we won't run out of all four varieties at the same time. That's why there will be "intermediate designs".
So there will also be cans that have the new design on the lid but are printed in black on the side. This is because we will stick the new design on the old lids, but will still use all the old cans.
It is important to us that all lids are changed at the same time and look the same. This is the most important part of the design and central to the recognition of our products.
The crying eye
Honestly, it's not easy for us to let go of the old design either. We loved our Murmeli in the sun.
But
This has been the case with every design change so far. And we wouldn't have wanted any of the old designs back. That's why we're convinced that this adjustment will also be an improvement in the long term.
Funny story
We receive feedback from customers or sales partners about all changes. Some of them were very dissatisfied with the new design or the new can. However, almost all of them were just as convinced as we were after a few weeks or months. And even if asked, they would not have wanted to switch back to the old design or the old can.
We often heard, “It sells better now,” “the can is more practical,” or “I like the can better now.”
It's probably like this: we just have to get used to the change first, then it becomes normal and when you look in the rearview mirror you can't even imagine the old way of life anymore. 😊
