What began over 30 years ago in a converted cowshed is now a family business with around 50 employees. In Frutigen, they produce natural products by hand every day – with care, experience, and conviction.
With this growth, we have reached a point where it became clear:
There's no more room.
That's why we are expanding our factory in Frutigen.
When growth becomes noticeable
It all started over 30 years ago in a converted cowshed.
There, our founder Andreas Schmid produced the first marmot herbal salves – by hand and with great conviction. For a long time, all our handmade natural products were made right there.
In 2016, the next step followed: the move to a larger factory. Suddenly there was space – for new ideas, new natural products, and to further develop our product range.
An idea became a family business.
One thing has always remained the same: our attitude. We produce our natural products by hand – 100% natural, without artificial additives and using as many local raw materials as possible.
Since then, puralpina has continued to grow year after year. With every order, every recommendation, and often with your loyalty over many years. From a small team, we have grown to around 50 employees who now stir, fill, package, ship, and sell every day.
We are very pleased with this growth. At the same time, we are noticing more and more clearly in our daily work: space is becoming tight.
When growth becomes noticeable in everyday life
The workstations in the office are getting closer together. There isn't enough space in the shop to show you our entire product range. Packages are piling up in the shipping department.
Our employees are pulling together and still ensuring, day after day, that your order is carefully dispatched.
And in the factory , there is a lack of space to give each step of the process the peace and attention that good craftsmanship requires.
Our employees are handling this situation with great patience and dedication. Nevertheless, it was clear to us: this cannot be a permanent situation.
That's why we're building on
We don't build to appear bigger.
We are building so that we can work better.

The start of the construction project in Frutigen
The starting signal for the extension construction was given on October 27, 2025.
Much has changed on the site since then. Demolition, excavation, and concrete work have taken place. What previously existed only on plans is now gradually taking shape. Expanding our factory is a major project for us – both organizationally and financially.
But we are convinced: It is an investment in the future of puralpina.
