In herbal ointments, the herbs simply didn't want to bond with the ointment base. Therefore, tiny particles of herbs are visible in the ointment.

Powerful herbs – strong effect
Sometimes nature plays its own cards – and that’s exactly what happened with a recent batch of our cooling marmot herbal ointment.
Although all production steps were carried out carefully as usual, this time the powerful herbs did not want to combine with the ointment base as usual.
Comfrey, hay flowers, calendula, St. John's wort, mint, arnica, marsh tea, nasturtium, and spruce needles – these valuable medicinal herbs are normally invisible but effective in our Marmot Herbal Ointment. But this time, they remain visible as small brown particles. This gives the ointment a somewhat more rustic look, but it works just as well as ever.
A true case of “the same but different”.

The effect is the same
The cooling marmot herbal ointment unfolds its proven power on stressed joints, ligaments and tendons.
The small herbal particles in the special edition are not noticeable on the skin, leave no residue and work as usual.
So: no reason to worry – rather a reason to rejoice for all who love the real and original.

Like all our natural products, this batch of marmot herbal ointment is handcrafted with love and care in our factory in Frutigen, in the Bernese Oberland. From weighing and stirring to filling and labeling – everything is done with great passion and a keen sense of quality.
You can hear clattering, rattling, and hissing from the production rooms, and the scent of herbs and natural essential oils permeates the entire building—what a delight.

Use instead of waste
At first, we were confused. Then we tested it. And then the idea came: Why not make this particular batch something truly special with visible herbs?
We lovingly call it our special edition – an ointment that shows what it contains.
However, because we know that visible herbs may seem unusual to some customers, we would like to not only sell this ointment regularly, but also make it a gift.
